§         What is UK Micromouse?

Micromouse is a national robotics competition, held on an annual basis for independent robot 'mice' to battle against each other within a 16 by 16 maze in a race for the quickest time.

§         What is Minos?

Minos is a 2-day event held by Royal Holloway, University of London. Day 1 consists of several seminar sessions on the design and build of micromice, and Day 2 is a micromouse competition.

§         What are Mice?

Mice can be as simple as a couple of motors and a switch, or a Lego Mindstorms kit with light and touch sensors, or as complex as a vision guided chassis with DC motors controlled by a Digital Signal Processing chip.

§         What is the aim?

The aim is for the Mice to compete against each other, solving the maze in the quickest possible time.

§         What do you win?

Separate trophies are awarded (normally in the form of brass cheeses) for beginners and experienced mouse handlers in schools, university, industry and private entry categories.

§         How do you enter?

There are four Micromouse competitions in the UK, each held annually.
