Festival Overview

Cinem@tic provides a platform for creativity and film-making talent, irrespective of the production budget available.  Student and independent films are shown alongside funded shorts from established production companies.

The films are judged by a panel which in previous years has been made up of representatives from BBC Birmingham, Birmingham City Council, and local Independent Film-makers.

Typically, over a hundred entries are received which are short-listed down to approximately 40 which are then shown across two evenings.

Members of the public are invited to attend the film festival which takes place over a two-day period, followed by an awards ceremony at the end of the second evening.  Seats can be booked in advance by emailing cinem@tic.ac.uk.

Due to increased popularity and interest in the festival we are moving the event this year to the IMAX Cinema, located within Millennium Point.  The IMAX Cinema will provide a unique experience, featuring a screen as high as a five storey building and as wide as four double decker buses.

Prizes will be announced at a later stage!
